How to Make a Privacy Request

01

To request access, correction, deletion, export, restriction, consent withdrawal, or review of personal information, contact support@compcontroll.org or use the support page at https://compcontroll.org/support.

Include the email address associated with your account, the type of request, the country or state where you live, and enough detail for us to locate the relevant account or support record. Do not send passwords, payment card numbers, or unnecessary sensitive information.

  • We may verify your identity before completing a request.
  • Authorized agents may need to provide proof of authority where required by law.
  • We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
  • If we deny a request, we will explain the reason when required and provide appeal instructions where applicable.

Account Deletion

02

If the app offers account creation, it must also offer a clear account deletion path. Account deletion means deleting the account record and associated personal information, subject to limited retention needed for legal, security, billing, fraud prevention, dispute, and backup purposes.

If deletion cannot be completed instantly because manual verification, fraud review, billing review, or security checks are required, we will provide the expected timeline and confirm when deletion is complete.

What deletion covers

Account profile, account identifiers, device associations, entitlement links where removable, and personal information no longer needed for the service.

What may remain

Billing records, tax records, security logs, fraud records, dispute records, legal holds, backup copies until overwritten, and records needed to honor opt-out or deletion requests.

Apple subscriptions

Deleting a Direct Control Lab account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel Apple subscriptions in Apple account settings before or after requesting deletion.

Web subscriptions

Web subscriptions should be canceled through the billing portal or support flow connected to the web purchase.

Data access

Access, Export, and Correction

03

You may request a copy of personal information associated with your account, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask for a portable export where required by law.

  • Account and subscription data may be linked to your email or platform account.
  • Diagnostic logs may be limited if they cannot reasonably be tied to a verified account or if disclosure would affect security.
  • Support messages can usually be provided or corrected if we can verify the requester.
  • We may refuse to change records when the requested change would make the record inaccurate, misleading, or legally incomplete.

Choices

Opt-Outs and Consent Withdrawal

04

Different choices are available depending on the platform, country, and feature. Some choices are managed by the operating system, some by Apple, some by Stripe, and some by Direct Control Lab.

Tracking

If App Tracking Transparency applies, use the iOS, iPadOS, or macOS privacy controls to allow or deny tracking. We do not track across other companies' apps or websites without required consent.

Sale or sharing

We do not sell personal information. If future practices create a legal opt-out right for sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, this page should provide that control.

Marketing email

Use the unsubscribe link in marketing emails or contact support. Service, billing, security, and legal emails may still be sent where permitted.

Diagnostics

If optional diagnostics are offered, turn them off in the app settings or contact support for help.

Device permissions

Revoke screen recording, accessibility, camera, microphone, local network, notifications, and file permissions in operating-system settings.

CCPA, GDPR, and similar laws

Regional Privacy Rights

05

Residents of certain jurisdictions may have additional rights. These can include the right to know what categories of information are collected, access specific pieces of information, correct inaccurate information, delete information, restrict or object to processing, portability, withdraw consent, opt out of certain sharing, and appeal decisions.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights, though some features may require data to function. If deleting or restricting data prevents us from providing a feature, we may be unable to continue providing that feature.

Safety

Security and Abuse Reports

06

If you believe your account, device, session, or data has been accessed without authorization, stop active host sessions, revoke device permissions, rotate credentials, and contact support@compcontroll.org.

Security reports should include affected account identifiers, approximate time, device type, session details if known, and a safe way to contact you. Do not include exploit code or sensitive third-party data unless we request it through a secure channel.
